Elevator Updates
In case you haven't heard, the annual inspection for the elevators was done the beginning of July and when they came to building 2 and proceeded to do the pressure test it blew a hole in the side of the cylinder. Big Big project. So they jackhammer the floor out, take out the cylinder and take out the piston. They sent specs to Miami to get new steel to build a new cylinder and Miami sent bad steel. They finally got good steel, made the cylinder, was taking it off the truck and it feel on the foreman's feet. He is out for a week. We are now in the 3rd week of no operation. They started Monday, July 25 to put the elevator back together and as they are putting the cylinder in the ground water is pushing it back up out of the ground. They finally, today July 29, have 2 of the 3 pieces of cylinder in the ground and welded together. Hopefully, with working all weekend, they will have the elevator installed and operational for the inspection on Monday, Aug. 1. I have included some pictures so you can see what I'm talking about.
